WellBN.co.uk is the new website for patients registered at Benfield Valley Health Hub abd Brighton Health and Wellbeing Centre.

The two surgeries have come together to form WellBN.

What is WellBN?

Benfield Valley Health Hub (BVHH) and Brighton Health and Wellbeing Centre (BHWC) are working together. WellBN has been formed by the coming together of the two surgeries. Your GP practice has evolved to ensure you continue to receive high quality primary care now and in the future. The surgeries coming together means we can make more efficient use of space, share facilities, resources, learning and equipment and avoid overlap or duplication, while delivering more services. This also means that we can share staff between sites, which helps us to manage your care better during staff sickness and annual leave.

We want to make sure there are GP surgeries serving the local community with good and appropriate clinical care for many years to come. Our plans will make the practices more sustainable, helping them to manage financial and estate pressures, which are faced by GPs around the country.

We are confident that the two surgeries will work well together with both practices having a strong patient focused ethos.

Burwash Medical Centre

Burwash Medical Centre is a small practice in Hangleton We are working hard to refurbish the Burwash Medical Centre and obtain the licenses to be able to reopen this surgery which has been closed for over 2 years. We will keep you updated on the progress. Once this has been achieved, our patients will be offered appointments at this branch as well.

WellBN

This name reflects the ethos of our organization. Wellbeing is paramount to living a functional life with meaning and purpose. At the heart of every healthcare interaction lies an opportunity to help someone to heal. We call it n=1. We chose the Brighton postcode BN, which covers a wide area, since we do not exclude patients from our care on geographical, or any other grounds.

How do I book an appointment?

We are using Klinik Access, a total triage system service to book appointments. This means that patients will be managed more effectively by connecting the right person for the right service.

For those patients who meet any of the criteria below, please know that you can still call the surgery where one of our triage team will be able to assist you:

  • If you do not have access to internet
  • If you have a language barrier
  • If you have a disability
  • If you are in mental health crisis
  • If you are neurodivergent
  • If you need an appointment for a child under 6 months old

For more information, visit our appointments page.

How do I order a prescription?

If you are able to, please order your repeat prescription medications using our online systems. This frees up our telephone lines and it also ensures less risk of errors as we have an audit trail of your request.

Please visit the prescriptions page for further details on how to order your prescriptions.

How do I register at the practice?

We accept patients from the BN postcode. To register, fill out an online registration form, or visit the surgery.

How are long term conditions managed

If you have a chronic health or long term condition your annual reviews will be scheduled around your birth month (alternatives can be agreed as requested or for patients with a new diagnosis). The practice aims to make this recall system more convenient by reducing multiple appointments, more efficient by using technological advances, and using the most appropriate clinical team to manage your health conditions. Those inidividuals who need support in accessing their reviews will have this provided including teams to manage housebound patients.

For detailed information about specific chronic health reviews visit our webpage.
