Influenza Immunisation starts at WellBN end of September.

Eligible cohorts for flu vaccination are based on the advice of the JCVI and Department of
Health and Social Care. Those eligible for NHS flu vaccine in 2022/23 are:

  • All patients aged 65 years and over
  • Patients aged 6 months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (see green book chapter 19 Influenza page 15 for clinical risk groups)
  • all children aged 2 to 10 (but not 11 years or older) on 31 August 20221 (i.e. up to school Year 6)
  • pregnant women
  • those in long-stay residential care homes
  • carers
  • close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • under 65s who suffer with chronic health problems, who are immunocompromised or have learning disabilities.
  • Secondary school-aged children focusing on years 7, 8 and 9 and any remaining vaccine will be offered to years 10 and 11, subject to vaccine availability.
  • 50 to 64 year olds not in clinical risk groups (including those who turn 50 by 31 March 2023) – FROM 15TH OCTOBER ONLY)

BRUNSWICK 1 October + 8 October

If you are not elegible for a flu jab on the NHS, you can get one at your community pharmacy.
